- KYC verification: national ID or passport copy, profile photo, and professional credentials (for agents and landlords).

- Bookings and enquiries: messages, viewing preferences, and scheduling information.
- Payments: transaction references processed via Paystack. We never store card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Device type, browser, and operating system.
- IP address and approximate location derived from it.
- Pages visited, search queries, and time spent on the Platform.
- Authentication cookies required for your session.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- Process KYC documents and approve agent/landlord accounts.
- Display property listings and facilitate booking requests.
- Process payments and send payment receipts.
- Send transactional notifications via email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
- Improve the Platform through analytics and feedback.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and fake listings.
- Comply with legal obligations under Kenyan law.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. KYC documents are retained for a minimum of 5 years as required by Kenyan financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at privacy@sparklehomes.co.ke. Some data may be retained for legal or fraud-prevention purposes even after account deletion.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and strict access controls. KYC documents are stored in private encrypted cloud storage and are only accessible to our verification team. Despite these protections, no system is completely secure — please use a strong unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent.

8. Children
The Platform is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
